Day 4

Digging out at a steady clip I quickly fill another trash bag and find two more loads of laundry.  All those socks that were missing a mate – I am pretty sure I know where the mates were now.  The Denizen of this hell hole takes the four bags of trash down to the trash barrel, and I startle my wife by throwing a load of laundry off the balcony into the room below.  It lands with a satisfying THWACK!

The door opens 48.4% today.

I make it to the west wall.  It is not possible to get through the door to the bathroom without severe bodily injury, but we can see the door now.

I find a note to parents asking for permission for our child to go on a 4th grade field trip.  Our child is currently a freshman in high school.

Suddenly I feel a wave of nausea.  I dig on, but soon realize that I can’t continue.  I am nauseous the rest of the day, barely making it through an interview for the newspaper.

No iPod.  I only have one plastic garbage bag left.

My in-laws arrive from Minnesota.
